National Residue Survey

The National Residue Survey (NRS) was establised in the 1960's in response to concerns about pesticide residue in pig meat. The pig monitoring program is fully funded by pig producers and is important for maintaining the pig industry's access to domestic and export markets.

The Program also maintains consumer confidence in Australian pork products, establishes a bank of scientifically valid data to underpin the Australian Pork Industry Quality Assurance program (APIQ), as well as assisting to resolve residue-related trade incidents.
