APL and Pork CRC RoadShow Seminars
During November 2008 Australian Pork Limited (APL) and the Pork Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) will take their research to the pork industry through a number of RoadShow Seminars.
APL General Manager R&I, Dr Darryl D'Souza and CEO of the Pork CRC, Dr Roger Campbell said the RoadShow provides an avenue for producers to find out about new developments in the industry.
"The seminars provide an opportunity for us to present research to the wider pork industry, it is also an opportunity for producers to question our research and bring a fresh input to the findings," Dr D'Souza said.
This year APL and the Pork CRC are delighted to host keynote speaker Mr Randy Stoecker as part of the RoadShow line-up.
Mr Stoecker has more than 30 years experience in the US pork industry, recently retiring as President of Murphy Brown's (Smithfield) Western Operations, the USA's largest pork producer with one million sows.
"Mr Stoecker is a keen advocate of the uptake of proven science and technology and is well placed to provide some insight into how we might improve our competitiveness here in Australia," Dr Campbell said.
While in Australia Mr Stoecker will also present at a variety of industry discussion groups, where he is keen to exchange information on production and management strategies.
The RoadShows will be held in Perth, WA, Young, NSW and Nuriootpa, SA.
